TACO BELL

I eat a lot of fast food. Certainly it isn't healthy, but that isn't what this is about (smile). And though I was trying to 'think outside the bun' this day, it wasn't the food that was particularly impressive. A taco simply is a taco. Or in my case, a Mexican pizza and tacos are just that.

I'm a sucker for good customer service. I appreciate spending my money and feeling good about it. What irks me to the core is spending my hard earned cash while dealing with someone with a nasty attitude. And what really ticks me off is my food being thrown about any type of way. I have more of the latter on my usual lunch time visits to Taco Bell.

Can you imagine a Mexican pizza in the bottom of the bag and six (yes, six this time) HARD tacos sitting on top? If you can't, let me help you out. When you put that much weight atop a flimsy box, once you open the box, the cheese that is supposed to be on the Mexican pizza ends up on the bottom of the lid. Now, I must admit that I've tried to salvage my cheese before, but after so many times of trying (with no success) I just end up pissed off.

Lo and behold THIS night the kids requested Taco Bell for dinner (thus six tacos...I know you were calling me a greedy heifer) and it was quite an unusual experience for me. The drive-thru cashier was not only courteous, but she placed my Mexican pizza on top of the tacos WITHOUT breaking any taco shells...ahhh....that's art. That's thoughtfulness. That's good customer service. Apparently the dinner crowd gets better service than the lunch crowd, but something is still wrong with this picture.

Just to see if I was correct, I chose Taco Bell for lunch the following day (I've got a thang for Mexican pizzas) and just as expected; pizza on the bottom three tacos on top (my co-worker shouted out her order as I sprinted out the workhouse door). DAYUM!

So I recommend this particular Taco Bell for your dinnertime pleasure. And you can try lunch, but if you order the pizza, request that they put it on TOP.

International House of Pancakes or IHOP

A few years ago you couldn't get me to eat anything in IHOP, the food was nasty. However, I think my local franchise has gotten new management or something because the food has been on point.

I get the same thing every time I go, sirloin tips and eggs, which comes with hash browns and pancakes.

Doesn't it look good? Well it was.

Hubby's food. All the meat that he had was turkey.

Our waitress was nice and friendly. Our food was piping hot.

I recommend this IHOP.

P.F Chang's China Bistro

Hubby and I decided to eat at P.F. Chang's, in Buford, GA, while running errands last Friday.

Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted by the hostess and directed to a table. (We beat the lunch crowd.) Matthew our server, came over to take our drink orders and he was unlike any waiter I've ever had in a P.F Chang's. But his looks, piercings and half sleeved tattoos, didn't overshadow his kindness.

Our drinks were kept filled and he gave feedback on the items we ordered. And the food was hot, fresh, and delicious.

The sauces that are used are mixed together by the waiter at the table. It adds a really nice touch to the meal. Stay away from the hot pepper paste if you don't like spicy foods. I love it so I put a lot.

My appetizers disappeared really quickly. These are pan-fried shrimp dumplings.

For the entrees we had hot pepper ships, vegetable lo mein, shrimp fried rice, and honey glazed chicken.

I recommend P.F. Chang's China Bistro

I've been to another location and had food just as good and service as great.

The best part about this restaurant, the manager came out and checked on all the diners.
